TRAINING: Back to the Gym

Today I've decided to sign up for a year membership again at my local gym. I think I'm opting for more stability in the year 2011 and a good decent chance to sum up the "quest" and speaking of it, I have tons and tons and tons of footage and vlogs to edit! Far out! Hence, I think some time to root myself down for the next 12 months is wise.

I think I have some sort of addictive personality. Once I get myself wired up about something, its bloody takes a lot of get me off it. Same thing with exercise and treadmills. Its a love/ hate relationship. I hate starting, but once I do, I want to keep coming back. Its definitely a mentality thing too. Once I'm set of get off the treadmill, then forgot about, I off.

So a big lesson that I've learnt is that I should't over think things and just do it. Do it! Don't think! do! (I can just recall my friend and colleague Ali Kadhim of 9 Lives telling me).

But then again, my thinking skills is what is seen as invaluable to what I do day-to-day though. Its what makes the dosh dosh for me, but I do want to see the day when I take a break from it and work the realm of the physical.

Back to the gym, I was on the treadmill today and I also figured out one of my biggest gym related hates - when somebody talks to you. I'm not a snob or anything, but I was running at a high speed, sweating like a bloody oinky oink, and this guy rocks over, gets on the treadmill next to me (are you serious? there's 20 unused treadmill around me man! get your freakin' own space).

Then he walks at a snail pace of level 4.0 (my grandma does that, in her sleep!) and say "hi".

Then he proceeds to "Where are you from?"

"China? India? Philippines?"

"I'm from Australia....mate!", I responded in annoyance (I'm trying to cloak my next 2 min target).

"Are you married?"

"What?!", I responded.

"That's ok, me neither. Maybe we should go for coffee?"

This last statement tripped me - LITERALLY!

Next thing I know I was on the ground, the treadmill still rolling, and the annoying guy hovering above.

"You train to hard. Maybe we should go for coffee?" he comments, adding a sleazy wink and smile at the end.
